The advantages for car rental customers are it is quick and easy to get to and  they then avoid the congestion in the central airport area. Access is provided by the speedy Skytrain which operates every 3 minutes during peak hours,  slightly longer intervals off peak. The Skytrain serves the Convention Centre (which is the first stop) and the Car Rental Centre which is the only other stop.

Arriving Passengers: The procedure is very simple and is the same from North or South Terminal

  •  Pick up your checked luggage at the north or south baggage claim area.
  •  Follow the overhead signs and hallway placards to the rental car center.
  •  Proceed out of the west end of the terminal under the covered walkway.
  •  Take the escalator up to the station and board the ATL SkyTrain for the five-minute ride to the rental car center.
  •  Enjoy the scenic 5 minute ride (stay on train at the convention centre stop)
  •   Go to your selected car rental company's counter, sign the agreement and collect your car.

Departing Passengers: Before catching your departing flight,

  • This links gives directions to the Rental Car Centre
  • Return your vehicle to the Rental Car Center. 
  • Have the rental agreement closed.
  • Use the free Skytrain service provided to the airport terminals.
